A Volunteer’s Experience…
June 23rd, 2014

“Hearing stats of homelessness sounded so distant until I started volunteering at Today House. And when my wife and I got involved with Today House, it became reality. Prior to volunteering I found myself asking many questions and regularly talked to a colleague of mine, who volunteered there. Volunteering at a homeless shelter, I thought, would be complex and challenging. Well, I was wrong. The volunteer orientation as well as the close support by the very involved staff &  board of directors have made my volunteering easy. And one thing that works really well for my wife and I is the flexibility in the volunteering schedule. It has been absolutely inspiring to be a part of the genuine care the shelter provides to those in need. Ultimately, it has been a humbling yet meaningful experience to be of support to the less fortunate.”  Richard H.
